How Much Does treatment Cost?

The cost of dental implants depends on your individual situation, the type of implant used, and the extent of treatment required.

There isn’t a fixed price, as every case is unique.

To give you an accurate price, we first need to understand your dental situation - which we’ll do during a quick consultation with our experienced oral surgeon, Dr. Tzvetanova.

Most of our patients invest between €1,500 and €4,000 in their dental treatment.

During your consultation, we’ll create a detailed treatment and cost plan, and if necessary, assist you in discussing it with your health insurance provider.

We understand this is a meaningful investment - but it’s one that can restore your confidence, comfort, and quality of life for years to come.

Thanks to our billing partner DZR, you can pay in installments up to 6 months interest-free, or up to 24 months with minimal interest.

treatment Costs Typically Include:

Advanced imaging, such as a 3D X-ray (CBCT/DVT), is recommended for precise planning.

Different brands and materials come at different prices, which are passed on at cost.

This is the oral surgeon’s work, with fees varying based on complexity and procedure type.

If there is too little jawbone, it is built up with natural or artificial bone material. This creates a stable foundation for the implant.

The crown or prosthesis attached to the implant adds to the overall cost.

Who needs dental implants?

... who want a natural-looking, permanent replacement.

…benefit especially from modern treatment concepts such as All-on-4 or All-on-6.

With only four to six implants, the entire jaw is restored and a fixed bridge is anchored on them.

... needing full replacement.

... who want to preserve or rebuild bone structure.

…who want a pleasant and stress-free experience this time.

... unlike bridges that require grinding adjacent teeth.

Dental implants are suitable for most adults with healthy gums and enough jawbone to support them. Even if bone loss has occurred, procedures like bone grafting can make implants possible.

To ensure the best results, it’s important to follow the treatment plan carefully.

If you have a chronic health condition or special concerns, we’ll gladly guide you through a safe and personalized solution.

What Is A Dental Implant?

Dental implants are the most reliable solution for replacing missing or damaged teeth - helping you regain a confident smile.

Made of titanium or ceramic, they are surgically placed into the jawbone and fuse with it to act as stable artificial roots.

This provides a strong base for crowns or bridges that look and function like natural teeth.

With proper care, implants can last many years - durable, natural-looking, and without affecting healthy neighboring teeth.

A Dental Implant Has 3 Components:

A small screw placed into the jawbone, known as the implant itself. Titanium is most often used because it’s lightweight, durable, and biocompatible.

An abutment, made from titanium or zirconium, which connects securely to the implant fixture.

A tooth crown, made from porcelain or zirconium, that attaches firmly to the abutment, functioning just like a natural tooth.

Your Treatment Process at a Glance

During an initial consultation, our surgeon informs patients about the dental implant treatments, discussing their advantages, disadvantages, and detailing the procedure and costs.

In the diagnostic phase, our surgeon conducts a thorough examination, including a 3D X-ray (CBCT/DVT), which helps assess bone density and quality (which determines if you need bone grafting), identifies nerve and sinus locations (to avoid complications), and allows our surgeon to plan the best angle and depth for the implant placement.

In some cases, the jawbone must be built up before implant placement. This can be done by bone augmentation measures, such as the use of bone substitute material.

Bone augmentation measures are necessary if the jawbone is not thick or wide enough to securely anchor the implant. Bone grafting material can be used to augment the jawbone.

Jawbone is allowed to heal, and it takes several months. Immediate implantation can also be done, but it depends on the bone augmentation procedure.

During surgery (under local anesthesia/sedation), to place the implant, the surgeon will open your gum and expose the bone.

A precise opening will be made in the bone to place the metal post, which acts as the artificial tooth root. It will be positioned securely and deeply within the bone.

After the placement of the implant into the bone, two steps can be taken:

  • Immediate loading for the aesthetic zone (for front teeth implant patients), a provisional immediate crown is placed on the implant after the implant insertion for three months, then the real ceramic crown is placed.  Zum Video

  • The surgical site is sutured. And after osseointegration (3 months healing), the implant will be opened, and a healing cap will be placed for a week, preparing the implant for the abutment & crown placement.  Zum Video

The real ceramic crown placement date is set on the same day. We will follow up with you in case you missed the appointment or simply forgot.

Osseointegration: Over the next few months, the jawbone grows around the implant, securing it in place. This healing process is crucial for the stability of the implant.

The healing process takes between 3 to 6 months, depending on the bone health & structure. During the first week of the surgery, you will be given antibiotics to prevent any infection.

Once osseointegration is complete, a small titanium connector (a healing cap) is placed on top of the implant. This will prepare the gum (and give the form) for the crown placement.

The second sitting will be the removal of the healing cap and placing an abutment, along with which the fixed crown will be placed (entirely a non-surgical procedure).

After this, you have to maintain your implant by regular follow-ups and maintaining good oral hygiene; regular professional teeth cleaning is recommended.

FAQs

Anyone over 18, except anyone who refuses bone graft surgery or very old patients with not enough bone.

If their sugar is under control from their doctor, yes they can get implants. They just need to check with their doctor first.

After the implant is placed, it might feel a little unfamiliar at first, especially during eating, speaking, or smiling. Because the implant has no nerve endings, the sensation is slightly different from a natural tooth.

Most people adapt within a few weeks, though for some it may take several months.

The surgery itself usually takes between 15 to 60 minutes, 90 minutes at most, depending on how complex the case is.

Each step is different:

  • The implant placement is the quickest.
  • Bone graft or sinus lifts take a bit longer.
  • Crown installation is done later and doesn’t take long at all.

You can usually start eating solid foods after about 2 weeks. If the implant is only on one side, you can eat on the opposite side sooner.

During the healing period, avoid anything sharp or crunchy like chips, and stay away from tough meats or milk products. Stick to soft foods like pasta, rice, and potatoes. You can drink hot or cold liquids, no problem there.

If you experience swelling, pain that lasts more than 2 weeks, or notice pus around the area, that’s a sign something may be wrong. You should come back for a checkup.

No one will be able to tell, not even you after a while.

We use high-tech tools like Dentsply Sirona intraoral scanner instead of outdated impression trays, which are uncomfortable and not as accurate. The scanner captures a precise digital model of your jaw right after the consultation.

You can see it on the screen immediately, and we send it directly to the lab so they can start creating your crown right away.

You’ll also get to choose the shade of your new tooth, and if you want, you can bleach your natural teeth first to make sure everything matches perfectly. The final result looks so natural that even you will forget it’s not your real tooth.

Yes. We check everything on the X-ray, and if you’ve had an implant before, we’ll ask if you want the same type again or prefer something different.

Titanium is biocompatible and neutral in the body, which makes it ideal for implants. Allergic reactions are extremely rare, only about 0.6% of people so it’s almost never an issue.

Dental implants have a success rate of about 98%, but in rare cases, the body can reject them. This usually depends on your immune system and overall health.

Some people may have immune responses where their antibodies treat the implant like a foreign object and resist it. That’s why we always check your health status carefully before starting.

If your body is rejecting the implant, we will need to remove it. In some cases, we might consider trying again later, but if it was rejected once, there’s a high chance it will be rejected again.

In that case, we’ll walk you through the best alternatives to implants based on your specific situation.

If implants aren’t an option, whether due to health reasons or your body rejecting the implant, there are still good alternatives available.

For single missing teeth, a common solution is a bridge, which uses the neighboring teeth for support. For multiple or full tooth loss, there are partially or fully removable prosthesis (like dentures).

The procedure is usually done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia or sedation.

During the treatment, you won’t feel any pain. Afterward, you might feel a bit sore, but in most cases, that can be easily managed with mild painkillers.

Some swelling in the first week is normal but no need to worry about strong or lasting pain.

During sedation, you’ll receive calming medication that puts you into a relaxed, twilight state. You’ll remain responsive but find the treatment significantly more pleasant.

This is especially suitable for those with severe dental anxiety or for longer procedures.

Aside from local anesthesia and sedation, we offer digital anesthesia with the STA system.

A lot of patients are actually more nervous about the injection than the procedure itself. This system helps eliminate that fear completely.

Instead of a traditional syringe, we use a pen-shaped tool with an ultra-fine needle.

Before the needle even touches the tissue, the area is gently pre-numbed. Then, with a small twist, the needle goes in, but because you’re already numb, you don’t feel a thing.

If everything looks good, we can often place the implant just one week after your consultation.

If bone grafting is needed first, that healing process can take around 6–9 months, and then we can place the implant.

Once the implant is placed, it needs about 3 months to fully heal and bond with the bone.

Sometimes, if the abutment (the piece between the implant and crown) needs to heal separately, we wait another week before placing the final crown.

If there’s not enough bone, don’t worry, it can be rebuilt or strengthened.

In the lower jaw, we usually do this through a procedure called bone graft/augmentation, where either your own bone (from another area) or special bone replacement materials are used.

In the upper jaw, we may need to do a sinus lift. That just means gently lifting the sinus membrane to create enough space and stability for the implant.

You won’t have to go without teeth during the healing phase, not for weeks or months.

We can place a plastic tooth or splint right after the implant to keep your smile complete.

In most cases, we either adjust your current denture or make a temporary one, so you look and feel normal until the final crown is ready

You’ll be prescribed an antibiotic for 5–7 days. You’ll also need to use a special mouthwash for up to two weeks to keep the area clean and reduce bacteria.

This helps prevent infections and supports proper healing.

Take a strong over-the-counter painkiller (available at the pharmacy). If the pain doesn’t ease or gets worse, come visit us for a checkup as soon as possible. We’ll take a look and make sure everything is healing the way it should.

In most cases, dental implants are considered private treatment and not covered by public insurance. However, there are exceptions.

Public insurance usually offers a fixed subsidy, based on the treatment needed.

If you have private insurance that includes full dental coverage, it might cover 100% of the cost. But this depends on your individual plan. Most private insurers also have an annual spending limit, though you can often use money built up from previous years.

In some rare cases, even public insurance may cover the full cost if there are strong medical reasons for the implant.

Yes, you can pay with installments up to 6 months without interest, and up to 24 months with very minimal interest.

Treat your implant like a natural tooth. Brush and floss daily, use mouth rinses as needed, and don’t skip regular dental checkups.

Good oral hygiene and professional cleanings are key to avoiding periimplantitis (inflammation around the implant), which can lead to implant failure if untreated.

Titanium and ceramic implants are very stable, but only if you take care of them properly.

Usually, just one follow-up visit is needed to remove the stitches. But if anything comes up or there are issues or concerns, of course, you can come in for additional checkups.

You should avoid intense physical activity, including working out, sex, swimming, or contact sports, for at least the first week. Anything that increases blood flow too much can cause throbbing pain or interfere with healing.

Let your gums heal properly before jumping back in.

Yes, these factors definitely affect the healing and success of your implant, avoiding these risks, especially during healing, makes a big difference.

  • Smoking after surgery increases the risk of complications and poor healing. It’s best to stop at least during the healing phase.
  • Alcohol can weaken the effect of medications like antibiotics and painkillers. It also puts stress on the liver, which is responsible for processing many of the medications and hormones in your body.

Vitamin D plays a big role in bone health. If your levels are too low, the implant might not heal properly. That’s why we check your blood and vitamin D levels beforehand.

If needed, you’ll be prescribed supplements until the levels are right, then we move forward with the implant.

Yes, but only before the crown, not the implant itself. If you want your crown to match whiter teeth, bleaching beforehand is a smart idea.

Once your natural teeth are the shade you like, we’ll match the crown to that color so everything looks natural and even.
